Dear VdC community,
 
Now is the time to be praying/thinking about sponsoring pilgrims for the VdC #6 to be held at Lakeside Camp April 22-25. We ask that you consider the following expectations/guidelines in reference to being a sponsor before you ask a potential pilgrim. We also encourage all VdC members to be mindful of the pilgrim selection guidelines. (see below) Please keep in mind that a VdC weekend is designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christian people, and through them, their families, congregations and the environment in which they live, work, and play. Applications can be found on the website. http://www.vdcww.org/

Want to be a sponsor?

To sponsor a Pilgrim participant you must:
· Be a Cursillista
· Be actively grouping
· Be willing to commit to your pilgrim 

 A sponsor must commit to:
· Identify pilgrims according to suggested criteria
· Support pilgrims through all phases of sponsoring
· Know pilgrims and their needs:
medical, physical, dietary, emotional and logistic
· Assist pilgrim’s family during the weekend
· “Be there” for the pilgrim
· Committ to post weekend responsibilities

Priorities for Pilgrim Selection
· Get to know the prospective pilgrim well.
· Talk to God about the pilgrim before talking to the pilgrim
· Talk to the community/Pastor about the pilgrim
· THEN talk to the pilgrim 

Who do we look for as Pilgrims?
· Be currently active in a church
· Be at least 21 years of age
· Be an active or a potentially active
community or congregation leader
· Be emotionally stable
· Be endorsed by both the sponsor and the Pastor  

Taking care if the Pilgrim Application
· Sit down and fill out the application together
· Double check all answers
-include preferred name/nickname
- include all health, physical and dietary needs
· Obtain the pastor’s signature
· Mail the application to Jackie Kinunen
